Event

In 1853 he took his family to the south shore of Lake Minnetonka, near Excelsior, Minnesota, a place which later become as Gideons Bay. He developed the Wealthy Apple and many other varieties of fruit through many long years of toil and research. Later he was made Superintendent of the Minnesota Experiment Station.
