According to my files:
This is the will of Catherine (Meakins), daughter of William Meakins, Jr. and his first wife, Mary Mills. She m. first, Ezekiel Payne (son of Henry Payne and Mary Assiter) and second, Peter Peake, Jr.
Admin. accts. of Ezekial Payne, 8/2/1743 and 11/5/1743; appraisers were John Vernon and Charles Neale; next of kin was Charles and Leonard Payne; Adm., Catherine Payne (Skinner).
8/28/1744: Adm. accts. of Ezekial Pain, St Mary's County. Sureties: James Thompson, Jr., William Payne. Distribution to: widow, 1/3. Residue to (orphans): John Baptist Payne, Ann Payne. Adm: Catherine Pain.
Colonial Settlers of St. Clement's Bay by Mary Louise Donnelly. She states that Ezekial Payne married first, Mary Daft--dau. of Charles Daft and Mary French--but that can't be. Mary Daft Payne was living in 1750 (admin. accts. of her brother Matthew Daft) and Ezekial Payne was deceased by 1743 with a wife named Catherine. Donnelly also gives Catherine's married name as Pye, but it wasn't.
Peter Peake, Jr. was married three times. His first wife was Ann Edloe whom he m. by 1712; the second wife was Ann Langham whom he m. 1717-1718 (she m. first, Richard Walker III by 1714); and third was Catherine Meakins.
I have only two children for Ezekial Payne and Catherine Meakins: John Baptist Payne who m. Ann Nottingham, daughter of Stephen Nottingham and Ann Payne who married Francis Cole, Jr. by 1757.
Will of Peter Peake, St Mary's County 10/28/1755-2/16/1756. Wife: Catherine, all the land and plantation that I possess. Daughter: Susanna Peake a cow, bed, etc. Children: John, Peter, Ignatius, Susanna Peake and Anastasia Brown, the remainder of my personal estate. Wife: Exec. Wit: William Russell, Thomas Thompson, George Medcalf.
Admin. accts. of Peter Peake 4/10/1757; sureties were Athanasius Ford and Thomas Manley; legatees were Susanna Peake; distribution to orphans (equally): John, Peter, Ignatius, Anastasia Brown, and Susanna; Exec., Catherine Peake (Skinner).
Anastasia Brown was born Anastasia Peake and was the daughter of Peter Peake and his first wife, Ann Edloe. Anastasia m. Richard Brown prior to 1755.
I'm sure there's a reason, but I don't know why George Wheatley (wife, Elizabeth) and Robert Ford were named.

Subject: Re: [MDSTMARY-L] CATHARINE PEEKE OF ST. MARY'S CO., MD
I placed Catherine as a Meakins in this family based on only one piece of evidence. She was named as next of kin of William Meakins, 5/2/1750. Of course, her name was given as Catherine Pye, and I agree with you that it was Payne, not Pye.
I believe what we have here are the will and administration accounts of a father and son, both of whom died about the same time.
The father apparently died without a will. The first two documents you have are his accounts. Yes, I know he named his son William (who may or may not have predeceased him) and I know he doesn't name Catherine, but could she have been excluded because she was from a previous wife? Donnelly claims that his first wife was Mary Mills. I do know that Charles Mills died in 1716 with his next of kin listed as James Mills and William Meken.
The next documents are the for the son, William Meakins.
MICKELL, WILLIAM, St. Mary's Co. 17 Feb 1749; 8 March 1749 To godson Joseph Thompson, land now rented to Catharen Pane if he shall arrive to age of 21; if not then to Agustes Mickell. To my sister Ann's child Willibe Varnon Wots, land now rented to Ignatius French, if he lives to age of 21; if not to return to Augusten Mickell. Rest of estate except two barrels of corn to Jno. Huse and my clothing to Jno. Strang, rest among: Anne Daves, Mary Whitfeild, Thomas Woren(?), Mary Sener(?), Ann Seener(?), Teacy(?) Mickell, Jno. Thompson son of Jno. Thompson, Mark Jarbo, Mikell Thompson, and Elizabeth Madlly, wife of Jno. deceased. Elizabeth Madly, extx. Wit: Jno. Manning, Thomas Greenwell, Thomas Cartly. 27. 196
His sister, Ann Meakins who m. first, ____Watts and second, Robert Thompson (who d. by 2/27/1767). Her children (among others) were: Willoughby Vernon Watts and Joseph Thompson, both of whom are named in the will of this William Meakins, along with their mother.
He names his brother Augustine Meakins--yes, I also agree his name was actually Peter Augustine.
He names his sister, Elizabeth (Meakins) Medley as his Executor. She m. first, John Medley by 1725 and second, Basil Peake about 1750.
Teresa Meakins named in his will is either his niece, daughter of Peter Augustine; his sister; or his stepmother--take your pick.
He names John Strong who m. Susanna Warren (dau. of Thomas Warren who d. 1745). He named Thomas Warren. Etc., etc., etc.
I see the administration accounts to which you refer for William Mickin, BA undated but about 1699. Administrator: James French of St Mary's County. I wonder if this wasn't a transcription error and William Mickin (I'm sure it must be Meakin) died in St Mary's County. This must be the William Meakins who married Elizabeth Beard. Donnelly states he had a daughter named Elizabeth who m. James French.
