(Abt 1853 - Bef 1902)

In 1880, I find in Osaskis village in Thomas Hoffman male white 27 yr. old, machinery dealer, born in Ind. parents both born in Penn. Wife Anna E. age 26 female white wife, keeping house born in Ill. parents born in Ohio, son George C. age 6 born in Dakota, parents born in Ind and Ill. Mary A. age 3 born Minn, daughters Naomi D. and Laoni M. both age 1 both daughters and both born in Minn. Lavina M. Gideon mother in law age 64 born in Ohio parents born in VA residing with the family. Also a Philip Myers listed as boarder age 65 born in Prussia. Census taken 2 June 1880, Osakis Village, Douglas County, Minnesota. It appears that there was a daughter, Mary A., born about 1877 and since she was not on the 1895 census perhaps she was married to Edward Evans by that time. It also appears that Naomi D. and Laoni M. Hoffman were twins, born about 1879.
