Job Slocum

He never married. He was a great admirer of the horse, and, it is said, was pecuniarily interested in some of the speediest horses of his time. Small in stature and light in weight, and frequently rode the winning horse in the race.

He died unmarried in Dover Township, Duchess County, New York, possessed of a cons1derable estate embracing both money and lands. His will was dated 5 March, 1813, and was proved at Poughkeepsie 10 February, 1815.
