In 1779 his name appears as a minute man on the alarm list and militia in the parish of North Haven. These were locally known as the ‘household bands’.

In 1792 Johnson and Michael Doolittle of Wallingford and Daniel Doolittle of Hamden sell land in Wallingford near Johnson Doolittle’s to their father Daniel.

On 9 Jan 1796 Daniel Doolittle of North Haven received land in Wallingford near Johnson Doolittle’s land from his children Giles, Nathan, and Rebecca Doolittle, then residents of Hamden, CT.

Buried in Old Graveyard, North Haven. Tombstone reads: "IN Memory of Mr DANIEL DOOLITTLE who died Dec 17,1808 aged 68
