Jonathan McVeigh, the father of Jesse McVeigh departed this life without a struggle September the 16th 1824 at 11 o'clock A.M., supposed to be upward of 90 years old or thereabout, he was baptised a little more than one year before he departed this life, and was a true believer in the Baptist Church and in the Lord Jesus Christ.An exact copy of the entries in the MacVeagh Family Bible which is nowin the possession of Mrs. Ella McVeigh Vann, Raleigh, North Carolina.
