The original marriage certificate, which was preserved by his grandson, John Levering, states that the marriage ceremony was performed by Joseph Bonsall, a Justice of the Peace, for the County of Chester.The witnesses, whose signatures appear upon the certificate, embrace Jacob Levering, Benjamin Levering, Septimus Levering, Elizabeth Levering and Hannah Levering. He inherited from his father a tract of land and a saw-mill in Lower Merion, opposite Manayunk.
