Death
Joseph Reading LIPPINCOTT, joined the U.S. Naval Reserve on 6 May 1942 and died 15 Dec 1944 while a prisoner of war in a Japanese internment camp in the Philippines.Joseph served as a Lieutenant, Supply Corps, in the Navy and was serving in the Southwest Pacific Theatre: Philippine Islands. He was killed either during transport to a POW camp on the ship Enoura Maru, or after he arrived.
He received a posthumous Purple Heart.
