1724/25 Mar 12, ELKINTON, Joseph of Northampton, Burlington, NJ, blacksmith. Inventory of personal estate of L 140.5.8; made by William Matlack and John Collins.1725 May 10. Bond of Elizabeth, widow of Joseph Elkinton, as administratrix of the estate. Thomas Antram of Springfield Twp., yeoman, fellow bondsman.
1738 Feb 1. Account of the estate by the administratrix, Elizabeth (now wife of John Crosby), showing payments to Samuel Woolman, Joshua Raper, Samuel Lovett, Richard Smith, Abraham Bickley, Elizabeth Roberts, Thomas Greffe, Jonathan Smith, Thomas Elkinton, _____ of said Joseph Elkinton, as legacy from Mary Elkinton, whose surviving executor Joseph was, and "accomptant prays allowance" for maintaining Ann, the second daughter of Joseph for 6 years, till she was placed with Isaac Antrum at L 5 per annum and afterwards L 8 per annum for 2 years, when she was sent back and became lame; for maintaining Frances, the fourth daughter; for clothes provided for Mary the eldest daughter, after her father's death; for maintaining Amy, the youngest daughter, only 18 months old at her father's death, for about 7 years, till she was put out at L 7 per annum; L 34.2.7 more are expended than the estate was worth.
