Military
According to Leslie Gray, Joseph SAVITZ was a Colonel in the Revolutionary War, however he is listed incorrectly as a Private on the memorial in the Old Allentown Cemetery between 9th and 10th Streets and between Linden and Turner Streets.Joseph was listed as a Private, 7th Class, 3rd Company, 4th Battalion Northampton County Militia in the Revolutionary War; information extracted from Veterans Graves Registrations.
Burial
Joseph Savitz is listed on the memorial in the Old Allentown Cemetery between 9th and 10th Streets and between Linden and Turner Streets. However, the records note that no tombstone was found in the old cemetery, information was taken from Veterans Grave records. David Zavitz gave Joseph's burial place as the Mennonite Cemetery.Endnotes
