Notes
Baptism
Lidia Sterner's baptism date is confusing. It is listed as 1795, but 1799 may be what it should have been. In the book, Records of Lehigh Church Zions' Lutheran Church: Lower Macungie, Lehigh County baptisms are listed in chronological order. Lidia's sister (presumed, at least), Nelli (aka Eleanora) was born in 1799 and baptised in October. The next listing, which is on the next page, is for Lidia, with the same parents as Nelli. However, the year is 1795 for Lidia's birth and baptism. Why? I do not know. My guess is that Lidia was born in 1795, but the family did not have her baptized until 1799. Maybe the family joined the church after 1795, and when their daughter Nelli was born in 1799, they had become members. Then, they wanted both daughters baptized. Or, there could have been a typo in the book for the year of the baptism.Endnotes
