Jacob COZENS (Cousins, Cuzzins, Cousens, Cozzins, etc.) had arrived in New Jersey by Sept 1680, when he acquire 100 acres on the north side of Assiscunck Creek also known as Birch Creek. He bought and sold several parcels of land and lied in the area until 1688, when he was called a serge weaver of Philadelphia in a deed. A year later he settled in Gloucester County, NJ. In 1695, Jacob COZENS was named the first constable of Greenwich Twp.
On 8 Nov 1700, Jacob CUSSENS of Greenwich, Gloucester, NJ made his will naming his wife Sarah and his three children: Jacob, George and Dorothy who was underage. It was proved on 2 Jun 1701.
