Gordon met Jeanne at her brother's birthday party shortly after his discharge from the army and the next night he came calling at her home. They were married in December 1947.
Gordon graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara and also from the University of Southern California.
He joined the Downey Moravian Church on May 19, 1991.
