William once wrote about his uncle, Uriah BROTHERS; "Uriah was a tailor by trade and a soldier in the 32nd British Infantry. He was discharged from the army in Canada and settled in or near to Canada about sixty years ago. Of his children I know little or nothing, having not heard from him for upward for sixty years."

William BROTHERS (1819-1902) immigrated from England to New Orleans, LA in 1842, apparently in the company of the family of James Watton, who may have been related to William's grandfather's first wife. William lived in Louisiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Iowa, Auckland and Whangarei in New Zealand, California and Washington.Marriage
