Adelbert WEED enlisted as a Private at the age of 18 on 8 Jan 1864 and joined Company Battery G, 4th Heavy Artillery Regiment, NY (Union) on 11 Jan 1864. He was wounded in action on 18 Jun 1864 at Petersburg, VA and died of disease on 26 Jan 1865. He was given Distinguished Service.Regimental History: The 4th Regiment Heavy Artillery was organized at NY Nov 1861 to Feb 1862. Was sent to defend Washington, DC 10 Feb 1862. The Artillery Brigade, 2nd Army Corps was organized to serve from May 1864 (Companies A, B, G and I, 3rd Battalion) to 25 Jun 1864.
