Notes
Divorce filed
Charles Henry GLOVER abandoned Marie Elizabeth (KLINGEBIEL) GLOVER when she was six months pregnant with their son, Charles Edwin GLOVER. She filed for divorce due to his abandonment and it was granted seven and a half years later. She went on to marry into the HILBERT family, and Charles Edwin was adopted by his step-father who changed his name to Charles Edwin HILBERT. Charles Edwin did not know he was a GLOVER until after his own son (Kenneth Merel HILBERT) was born. Later, the HILBERT surname was officially changed in the courts back to GLOVER.Census
Marie Elizabeth (KLINGEBIEL) GLOVER and her son, Charles Edwin, were living with her brother, George KLINGEBIEL, and his wife, Rose, at the time of the 1900 Ohio census. Marie was listed as divorced.Endnotes
