The marriage was also recorded at Rebecca's Rich Hill MM in Armagh, Ireland.The Marriage Book Ulster Quarterly Meeting shows Jacob as being from Grange MM, Parish of Clanfekill, County Tyrone; Rebecca was listed as from Kincon, Parish of Kilmore, County Armagh. Their marriage was at the Friends Meeting House in Ballyhagen, County Armagh, and was signed (witnessed) by: Benjamin MACKIE (Rebecca's brother), Ann MACKIE (sister), Mary HINSHAW, Margaret HINSHAW, Mary GREER, Joseh and Ann MACKIE (Rebecca's parents), John MACKIE (Rebecca's brother and husband of Elizabeth HINSHAW), William HINSHAW, and Jacob and Rebecca themselves.

Jacob and Rebecca lived for a time within the limits of New Garden MM in Chester, PA and then became members of the Menallen MM in Warrington, York (now Adams), PA when they moved in 1748.Immigration
Jacob and Rebecca emigrated from Ireland to New Garden, Chester, PA. An entry referencing his preparations to emigrate is found in the minutes of the Preparative Meeting of Grange, near Charlemount, Ireland, for the meeting of 3 Feb 1741:"Patrick Holm & his wife, also Hugh Kennedy & his family, having Laid before our meeting their Intention of Removing to America, they being poor friends & in want of help, therefore this meeing agrees that William Delap doe Lay out ye Sum of fifteen pounds Ster: to help ye pay their fraughts and other necessaries for ye Jurnay untill he be paid ye Same out of ye Interest Left to poor friends of this meeting; also John Whitsit, James Pillar, William Delap, Thos Greer & Benjn Marshill are Desired to Draw Suitable Certificates for ye Sd Hugh Kennedy and for Jacob Hinshaw & his wife who Intends ye Same Journy."
Jacob and Rebecca were received at the New Garden MM, Chester, PA on 30 Nov 1741:
"Jacob Hinshaw and Rebecca, his wife, produced a certificate from ye Men's and Women's Meeting (Grange) near Charlemount in ye North of Ireland, bearing date ye 3d day of ye 2d month, 1741, recommending him and his wife members in unity."
Religion
In 1752, some members of the Menallen MM complained that Jacob was guilty of "breach of promise concerning the price of a Createre." In September, Jacob wrote to the meeting, saying:Friends as it was your desire I should be at this meeting toClear the truthu of the Scandal I have brought upon it by my breach of promise for the which I am very sorrey and hopes to be more careful for time to come.

Jacob bought two tracts of land, one containing 272 acres and the other 106 acres from Herman Husband for forty pounds. The deed identifies Jacob as a weaver by profession.Will
Jacob Hinshaw, his Last Will & Testament:I, Jacob Hinshaw of Randolph county and State of North Carolina Being in health of body and of perfect mind and memory. But knowing the Mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner following. And as touching each worldly Estate as it has pleased the lord to bless me with. I Beequeath Give devise and dispose of in the following manner.
I ordain and constitute my son William Hinshaw and my son inlaw William Hinshaw to be my whole and soal Executors and trustees of this my last will & testament ---
First I allow my funeral charges & just debts to first paid out of my estate ---
I give & Bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecca Hinshaw a bed and furniture and a Chest of half my [unreadable] and [unreadable] furniture and her mintainance on my plantation during her natural life ---
Item I give to my daughter Ann McMullin five Shillings
I give to my son Thomas Hinshaw five Shillings
I give to my son Benjamin Hinshaw five Shillings
I give to my daughter Mary Hinshaw five Shillings
