Military1645Delivered supplies of "beef, corn, and pease" to Sachem Uncas' Mohegans who had made a fort and resulted in an eventual victory over the beseigiing Narragansett. Leffingwell's act created a bond of friendship which allowed the Englshmen to occupy the Mohegan's conquered lands and eventually allowed them to purchase land which included the nascent town of Norwich.
