Death

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Gallimore Furr, age 90, of Esom Hill, GA, passed away Monday morning, October 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Furr was born April 29, 1935, the daughter of the late James Paul Gallimore and the late Mae Kathleen Sewell Gallimore. She spent her entire life in service to others, gifted with a true talent for caring for her family and friends. Her service to her family was evident in the way she loved unconditionally and made sure her family had everything they needed. She was a talented seamstress and loved sewing. Mrs. Furr also loved flowers and could always be found tending her own flower gardens. Perhaps her most cherished role was as a Sunday School teacher, a calling to which she dedicated over 60 years of her life, most of those years at her home church, Harmony Baptist Church. Her devoted love and faith will remain with her family forever. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Furr is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Furr, Sr.; and her sister, Marie Gallimore. Mrs. Furr is survived by her loving children, Robert Furr, Jr. (Pat), Julie Ingle (David), and Cathy Robertson (Cal); and loving grandchildren, Karrie Parker (Taylor), Kelly Leavitt (Peter), Warren Robertson, and Samuel Robertson. Funeral services for Mrs. Furr will be conducted Thursday October 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Purser and Rev. Trey Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday October 23, prior to the service, from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. at Litesey Funeral Home. The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Wessley LeFurgey, Jeff LeFurgey, Kerry LeFurgey, Walter LeFurgey, Peter Leavitt, Taylor Parker, Tim Jones, and Jesse Purser. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Dorothy Gallimore Furr.
