Death

Joyce May Largent, 83, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, in her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Pastor Mike Carr officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Shepherd’s Hook Church, Findlay, IL. Joyce was born on March 24, 1942, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Charles F. and Faye (Edwards) Furr. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1960. Joyce married Glenn A. Largent on June 28, 1963. Joyce worked at Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company, Quality Market, and Ben Franklin all in Shelbyville. Most recently, she owned and operated Largent Ceramics in Findlay. Joyce enjoyed cooking, gardening and crafting. She was a member of Shepherd’s Hook Church in Findlay. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cindy Oakley and husband Richard of Shelbyville, IL; daughter-in-law, Michelle Largent of Sullivan, IL; brother, Charles “Wayne” Furr and wife Dixie of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Christopher West, Michael West, Donavan Largent, Kenneth Largent, Elizabeth Anderson, and Shelby Cooper; and great grandchildren, Audrey Anderson and Jackson Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn on May 19, 2020; son, Daniel Largent; infant son, Richard Largent; and grandson, Andrew Largent.
