Death

Francisco Balizan Sr, 74, beloved father and grandfather passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011. He was born on August 18, 1936 to Margarita Gonzalez Balizan in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was a graduate of Las Cruces High School and he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the 1950's. He was a Las Cruces Police Officer, worked and retired from PSL. Later in his life, he was a security and transport officer for the Dona Ana County Sheriff's department at District Court. He is survived by his children; Teresa Furr and husband Greg, of El Paso, TX; Sylvia Roberts and husband Ernest of Las Cruces, NM; Edward Balizan and wife Melissa of Pueblo West, CO; Francisco Balizan Jr. and significant other Laneil of Las Cruces, NM; Elizabeth (Lisa) Balizan and fiancé Warren of Las Cruces, NM. Also left behind to miss him are seven grandchildren; Steven Marquez, Regina and Krystle Aman, Ernest Kyle and Katarina Roberts, Skyler Furr and Raven Trapp, many nieces, nephews, numerous friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Margarita and his loving wife Stella Balizan. The rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Purification Church in Dona Ana, and the Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Purification Church.
