Death
Lance Thomas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024, at his home in Homerville, Ohio. He was 79 years old. Lance was born on April 24, 1945, in Polk County, North Carolina. He led a fulfilling life marked by his passions and dedication to his family and community. An avid golfer throughout his life, Lance found joy and camaraderie on the golf course. He also shared his love for sports as a coach and umpire for his children's softball teams. His athletic spirit, cultivated from his youth, remained strong as he aged. Lance retired from General Motors after more than 30 years of service, allowing him to embark on adventures and spend cherished moments with his family. Lance proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an air policeman from 1964 to 1967, stationed in London, England. His service was a testament to his patriotism and dedication to duty. Lance will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 55 years, Faye. He is survived by his three daughters, Wanda (Darren) Mullins, Susie (John) Barnard, and Tracy (Jake) Furr, along with his six loving grandchildren, Ashley (John), Dillon (Jaqueline), James (Kaitlyn), Justin (Kristina), Tori (Ty), and Tony. He will be missed by his two sisters Betty Totten and Henrietta (David) Wiggins and many nieces and nephews as well. Lance was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Guy Barnard. Private service and burial will be held to honor his memory. We would like to extend a special thank you to Cleveland Clinic Hospice and Dawn Cillian for their exceptional care and support.
