Death
Betty Jo Willert, of Bellingham, WA went to be with her Lord on April 8th, 2015. She was 86. She was born on October 2, 1928 in Rodgers, New Mexico to William Minor and Nettie Mae (Wilson) Strickland. Betty was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County. On July 4, 1947 Betty married the love of her life Thomas Edward Willert. With her husband by her side, they served as short term missionaries in Costa Rica, Fiji, Jamaica, Portugal, Samoa and Tonga. Following their mission work, they pastored Alger Valley Christian Center and Thousand Trails for 10 years. Betty enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with her husband and her four children. She always had a word of encouragement for others and never held back from sharing her faith in the Lord. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, brothers Luke Lee and Mac Strickland, sisters Kay Pope and infant sister Lela Nae Strickland. She is survived by children Linda (Roger) Furr, Tom (Karen) Willert, Jeni (Mark) Walton, Deborah (Noam) Cohen; grandchildren Jason (Holly) Furr, Aaron (Kyoko) Furr; Cortney (Leah) Willert, Chris Davis; Brad (Mallory) Walton, Taylor Walton; Brian (Wendy) Lynch, Kevin (Christina) Lynch; great-grandchildren Ashley & Emily Furr, Dylan Furr; Trinity and Destiny Davis; Lydia Willert; Cooper, Carson, Cayden and Lexi Walton; Aubrey and Marcus Lynch; Noah and Hannah Lynch; and numerous nieces & nephews and other relatives. Wife, mother, grandma, aunt, sister and friend....you were loved and will be missed by many! A visitation will be held April 15, 11:00 A.M., at which all are welcome to attend to be followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 P.M. at Moles Farewell Tributes Bellingham, 2465 Lakeway Dr. Burial will be at Bayview Cemetery.
