Mary E. TuckerMary E. Tucker (nee Ebel) GRIFFITH, IN - Mary E. Tucker, 76, of Griffith, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday October 9, 2017. She is survived by: her husband of 50 years Wayne, and their daughter Suzanne, both of Griffith, and numerous additional nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents Herman and Helen Ebel of East Chicago, her sister and brother-in-law Eva and George Miksich of St. John, and Uncle and Aunt Walter and Manya Ebel of Whiting. Mary was born in Czechoslovakia in 1941. She immigrated to the United States with her parents and sister in August of 1949. They lived in East Chicago, IN. She graduated from Washington High School in 1960. Mary started working at Inland Steel, where she met her husband Wayne, and married in 1967. Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter, and planning vacations around food. She was a true 'foodie' at heart. Her favorite place was Bar Harbor, ME. She was also an avid reader, primarily of mysteries, and a true frequent flyer to the Griffith Public Library for many years. Mary will be cremated with no services to be held, in honor of her wishes.
