Isabella Crawford Clegg
Mrs. Isabelle Crawford Clegg, widow of Thomas Clegg, formerly of Minonk, passed away Tuesday morning May 7, at 1:50 a. m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. J. Joosten, Peoria, where she had resided for the past four years. She died at the age of 73 years, three months and six days, following an illness of eight years duration.

Funeral services will take place at the Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon with Rev. W. T. Martin and Rev. M. W. Mosbacher of St. Louis, officiating. Mrs. Frank Iliff, Mrs. M. Livingston, Mrs. Frank Meils, and Mrs. W. T. Martin will sing, with Mrs. F. W. Wilcox accompanying at the organ. Mrs. Iliff will also sing a solo. Interment will be at Minonk cemetery.

Pallbearers are Howard T. Smith, Fred Tucker, Dr. A. A. Johnson, W. H. Tucker, Alfred Jones, and Frank Swan.

Mrs. Clegg was the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Crawford and was born in Peoria county, near Edelstein, Jan. 31, 1862.

In 1885, she was united in marriage to Thomas Clegg, who died at Longmont, Colo., on March 19, 1904.

After her marriage she lived with her husband on a farm near Dana until 1902, when the family moved to Longmont, Colo., where they lived for two years. Mrs. Clegg returned to Minonk in 1904, and resided here until 1931.

Mrs. Clegg is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Joosten, Peoria, and a grandson, George Joosten, two sisters, Miss Annis Crawford, Minonk, Mrs. George Ridge, Fort Dodge, IA., two brothers, George Crawford, Minonk, and Luther T. Crawford, Flanagan. A daughter, Atha Mabel, died in infancy, and Eva Esther, died at the age of 19.

Mrs. Clegg united with the First Presbyterian church of Minonk, in 1887, and was an active member of the Ladies' Aid and Missionary societies.
