Robert Glover, Somerset Herald in the College of Arms, during the Visitation at Cheshire in 1580, recorded of Jane HORTON that she was the daughter and heiress of Roger HORTON. Glover also recorded that her mother was Alice MANLEY, the daughter of Sir Thomas MANLEY. Of this information, John NUTHALL II was Glovers source. [See The Visitation at Cheshire of 1580: Nuthall of Cattenhall.] Like Richard NUTHALL I, Jane HORTON was either born or known to have been alive in the twentieth year of the reign of Henry VII. Her likely date of birth was, in all probability, closer to 1495.
