Robert Glover, Somerset Herald in the College of Arms, during the Visitation at Cheshire in 1580, recorded of Jane NEWPORT that she was the daughter of Robert NEWPORT of Sanden in Staffordshire. Of this information, John NUTHALL II was Glover’s source. [See The Visitation at Cheshire of 1580: Nuthall of Cattenhall.] Sanden, however, is in Hertfordshire, not Staffordshire.
