J. J. Martin died at his home near Hebron, Nebraska, June 13, 1935. He was born on the old Martin homestead in Webster District, Marshall County, West Virginia in 1857. He had resided there until 1888, when he moved with his family to the West. He was the youngest of nine children and was the last to pass away. Mr. Martin married Miss Church, also of Webster District, more than fifty years ago. His wife survives him and will continue to reside in the home in Nebraska and a grandson, John, will stay with her. Although having resided in the west for nearly half a century, both Mr. and Mrs. Martin were still interested in their childhood home and kept in close touch with friends in West Virginia.
