In 1900 census for Edmondson County, Jessie listed both parents as being born in Kentucky.

Leonard Preston Denton has a tombstone in the New Cypress cemetery, McLean County, Kentucky. For some unknown reason, the tombstone lists a birth year of 1862 and death year of 1934. I have good source material, ie his death certificate, the 1900 census, and a letter written by Jessie Denton in 1931. that all state the dates I am using. The tombstone is wrong.
