present at the birth. She was an aunt or sister of his mother, Susan
DONAGHY.
His father, John SNEDDON, was in Canada working when James was born in
Scotland, and he did not see his son until he was 11 months old.

At the Catholic Church.His mother, being a catholic, had him christened at the catholic
church. However, when his father found out, he was not happy, as her
was a protestant. He initially forbade her to go to church, but later
they had a reconciliation. She was allowed to go to church, but she
chose not to.
