James ALFORD

Born Tabilk, Shire of Goulburn, County Moira (as per birth certificate number 29020).

He was an airman in the Royal Australian Airforce ( service number 13080). Received Star of Pacific war medal.

Trish says "James Alford was my grandfather. l never met him because he passed away before l was born but l'm told he had a good sense of humour and from war enlistment papers my aunty gave me he seems to have been polite and hardworking. My family comes from a labouring background. Before the war my late grandparents lived at Benwerrin in the Otways in Victoria. Their house got burnt down by a bushfire."



Teresa Eyre says: James Alford is my grandfather and he passed away shortly after my sister was born. Unfortunately he didn't get to see her before he passed away of a heart attack.
He was also in the second world war.
