Ralph Basset, 1st Lord Basset (of Weldon) was created 1st Lord Basset, of Weldon [England by writ] on 6 February 1298/99. He fought in the Battle of Bannockburn on 24 June 1314, where he was taken prisoner. None of his descendants were ever summoned to Parliament by writ of his Barony of Basset.
