empeabee says on 20 Dec 2017: A few days ago, we lost my uncle Jon - an incredibly funny, generous, eccentric, talented, crazy man with a ridiculous sense of humour. He wasn’t himself in the last years of his life, and it was hard for everyone to see him change. So whilst I have never been comfortable with all the ‘they’re in a better place’ platitudes that often arise in these situations, I would really like to think of him drinking a fine whisky, and smashing out a wicked piano solo, in some dirty jazz bar in the sky. I’m so glad I got to see him in Bangkok last month, but sorry I can’t be there for the final farewell this week.
