ARBOR DAYMarlborough School
A very enjoyable afternoon was spent
at the Marlborough school grounds, four
Cocos Plumoso palms being planted and
a number of plots prepared for a num
ber of roses to be planted later. A
largo number of visitors attended, the
Marlborough branch of the Country
Womens Association being wen repre
sented. A basket picnic was provided
by the ladies. Sports and races were
run on the point system, which in
cluded flat, sack, relay, hopping, three
legged, threadthe-needle and wheel
barrow races for all ages. Thirty-five
points were the maximum. Mary
Kyalls secured the highest score for
pirls, 25 points. W. Tomkins and
Geoffrey Skewes, with 20, tied for
hierhest score for boys. Next in order
were :
