Thomas Clancy's larger holding was traversed by Emu Creek just before it joins Axe Creek. Here he proceeded to build a cottage, a slab building with a low verandah running the length of the front of it. Just across the creek he planted an orchard. I visited the area in 1977. Nothing of the house remains but its approximate location can be determined by the beds of iris still growing through the grass, remains of the garden around the house. The remains of the orchard are to be found in seven gnarled mulberry trees still remaining.
