"Plaques are presented to 'Golden' couple
Waubaushene (Staff) - Scores of visitors an many gifts were received by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Oliver when they held a reception at their home in Waubaushene, Dec. 3rd, to mark their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Both are in good health.
Plaques were received from the Ontario Government, through Gordon E. Smith MPP for Simcoe East, who was a guest, and from Tay Township, along with personal good wishes of Tay Reeve Charles Rawson.
Married in Port Severn
The Olivers were married Dec. 5th, 1927, at Port Severn. For a time they lived in Matchedash before settling in Tay. They have five children, one daughter, Laura (Mrs. Harvey Seaton) of Edgar; and four sons, Bill of Waubaushene; Joseph, of Quebec; John of Austrailia.
Mr. Oliver, who has been retired for some years, was a former farmer and stonemason. He has two sister, Bessie (Mrs. James Oakley), Coldwater and May (Mrs. Ed. Brandon) of Lindsay.
Mrs Oliver was the former Adeline St. Amand. She has a brother Edwars St. Amand of Midland, and sis sisters, Emily of Orillia; Velma of Waubaushene; Irene of Hamilton; Dorothy of RR1 Coldwater and Lucy of Toronty, all of whom are married, and an unmarried sister, Miss Laura St. Amand of Penetanguishene.
