Obituary of Oral Copsin--as printed in the Des Moines Register--Thursday Feb. 6, 1986

Oral "Vern" Copsin, 64, of 2315 E. Fortieth Court, died of a heart attack Thursday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Grandview Funeral Home. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Copsin was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He retired from the round house for Rock Island Railroad. He was a member of Grandview Baptist church and was a member of Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, two sons, Robert Earl and David LaVern, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Kading of Casey; three stepsons, Dean Newlin of Lakewood, John Newlin of New Virginia, and Jerry Newlin, address unknown; a brother, Earl of Bradenton, Fla., two sisters, Loretta Cole and Irene Eaton, both of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
