Thomas Culbertson was a son of Robert and Esther McElroy Culbertson. Both parents were born in Ireland. Thomas was born in Morgan County, Ohio on March 9, 1832. He married Druzilla Bocock on October 2, 1854 in Grant County, Indiana. Their first two children were born in Marion, Grant County, Indiana. The next two were born in Champaign County, Illinois. All the rest of their children were born in Livingston County, Missouri.
