Paul R. Newlin, a resident of Bettendorf, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, and Panora, Iowa, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf. Private family services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements. He was born April 12, 1919, in Earlham, Iowa, the son of Roy and Edith (Mott) Newlin. He was united in marriage to Margaret Evelyn Kiser in Des Moines on October 15, 1944. Paul was employed by Bridgestone-Firestone in Des Moines for 35 years and was a member of the Methodist Church and the Panora Masonic Lodge.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, four brothers and a son, Brian Paul Newlin.
