Obituary
JOSEPH KING (ROI)An avid hunter and a resident of Port Severn area for the past 78 years. Joseph King (Roi) died Feb. 24 at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Orillia, following a brief illness. he was in his 93rd year.
Funeral service was held Feb. 27 by Rev. Burke from St. John the Baptist-Roman Catholic Church, Port Severn, with internment in St. John's Cemetery, Waubaushene.
Pallbearers were Orville, martin and Jack Kine, Lawrence Barron, Jerry Moreau Mord laughlin.
Out-of-town relatives and friends attended the service from Honey Harbour, Midland, Mount St. Louis, Toronto, Perkinsfield, Lafontaine, Port Severn, Waubaushene.
The son of Sophie (Ouelllette) and Onesime Roi, he was born June 21, 1877, at Newmarket and lived there for 15 years before moving permanently to the Port Severn area.
Married in 1898 at Victoria Harbour to Annie St. Amant who predeceased him in 1943, he is survived by six sons, Theophile of Mount St. Louis and Eli, Fred, Henry, Herby and Oliver, all of Port Severn.
He also leaves three daughters, Laura (Mrs. Gerardreeman Barron), Annie (Mrs. Jake Gendron), and Claudia (Mrs. Freeman Barron), all of Port Severn, as well as 33 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.
