Description
My Grandma (Elizabeth St. Amant) was a devout Catholic.I remember as a young child visting on vacation, when she lived on Olive Street in Midland,
and at night laying in bed listening to her beads clicking as she said her beads before going to sleep every night.
She raised 10 children on welfare by keeping a garden, 2 pigs and some chickens, and stretching it out by making
stew.....everyyyyyy night but no complaints or the back of my head would feel my mother's hand......we didn't starve.
I also remember her telling me not to use too much paper when I visited the outhouse, and climbing up on the pig stye to pick
apples from her crab apple tree, so that I could throw them at the pigs...the pigs loved it.
When we visited, I spent a lot of time with my Grandma, in her pantry, helping?? her and her patience in listening
to my incessant chatter, and talking to me by the hour.
She was a very nice lady.
