MILDRED M. KORNS
Mrs. Mildred M. Korns, 86, of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1988, in the Brookhaven Nursing Home, Brooklyn following a short illness.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Rev. G.H. Hulsebus of Montezuma officiated. The organist was Mrs. Nina Bartachek. Casket-bearers were Jerry Barber, Jack Ramsey, David VanDevedner, Wallace Scott, Dennis Korns, and William Korns. Interment was in the Masonic-IOOOF Cemetery, Montezuma.
Mildred Mae Ramsey Korns, daughter of John and Sarah McLain Ramsey, was born on a farm southwest of Brooklyn, Ia., May 30, 1902.
She recived her education in a rural school. She waa united in marriage to Truman Korns in Adel, Ia., January 7, 1939. He died July 24, 1962.
Mrs. Korns spent most of her life in Brooklyn. She was a cosmetologist for many years, working first in Belle Plaine, and then in Brooklyn.
Mrs. Korns was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rebekah Lodge and BBB Club, all of Brooklyn.
Survivors include a brother, Lyle Ramsey of Adel, Ia.; a niece, Maxine VanDeventer and family of Rockford, Ia.; and a nephew, Marvin Ramsey and family of Montezuma.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Howard, Ross, and Ralph.
