Prestbury Parish Registers - Marriage. Matthew Brocklehurst of Wildboarclough of this Parish, Collier and Elizabeth Slack of Wildboarclough of this Parish, Spinster were married in this Church by Banns this seventh Day of December in the Year One Thousand eight hundred and twenty six. By Thomas Garratt, Curate. Matthew Brocklehurst & Elizabeth Slack ( Both Signed). Witnesses: Jane Titterton & Thomas Slack ( Signed).Death
We do all fade as a leaf. God is love. In memory of Thomas, son of Matthew and Elizabeth Brocklehurst of Knotbury who departed this life Sep 25th 1835 aged 1 year and 8 months. Also Matthew son of the above who departed this life March 1st 1844 aged 1 year. Also Elizabeth daughter of the above who departed this life April 29 1857 aged 16 years. 'When round my grave you come to weep/Think that ye hear me say to all/Upon this tomb no tear shall fall/God giveth his beloved sleep.' Also Matthew Brocklehurst father of the above who died Sept 28th 1863 aged 64 years. 'He had great good hope in Jesus' Also Elizabeth wife of the above named Matthew Brocklehurst who died June 7th 1886 aged 82 years. 'Her end was peace'Burial
