"William Cantrell was killed in the Civil War. He probably was in the 2d South Carolina Regiment, Colonel Bacon. He made a will, dated May 5, 1862, in which he gives and bequeaths everything to his wife, Margaret D. Cantrell, and his son Zibeon, "should I not return from the war," and appointed his father, Zibeon Cantrell and R. Arnold, executors. The will was probated December 11, 1862.
