(August 14, 1855 - January 24, 1923)
1900 Red River County, Texas census.

"Henderson Hopgood Cantrell lives in Texas (1907). (THE CANTRILL - CANTRELL GENEALOGY, 1908, by Susan Cantrill Christie, page 78.)
"Henderson Hopgood Cantrell was born August 14, 1855 in DeKalb County, Tennessee. He married Mary Ann Holly in DeKalb County. She was born August 18, 1854 in Tennessee. She was a daughter of John Holly. In 1880, they were living with his parents in Tennessee. In the household was a William T. Atnip, age 10. He moved to Texas and settled in Runnels County, where he died January 24, 1923, and his wife die March 18, 1931. They were buried at Old Runnels Cemetery, Ballinger, Texas. If Henderson Hopgood and Mary Ann Cantrell had children, we did not find them in family or public records." (CANTRELL - CANTRILL, 1972 by Horace Elbert Cantrell, pages 407B - 407C.) (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I do not find Henderson Hopgood Cantrell, or any Cantrells, shown in Old Runnels Cemetery or any other cemeteries in Runnels County, Texas, as they are listed in IN REMEMBRANCE, CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS IN RUNNELS COUNTY (TEXAS), 1985, by the Runnels County Historical Commission. However, I do find William F. Attnip (11 August 1871 - 25 Jul 1950, his wife, Lena M., one daughter, and one grandson on page 166 of the above reference. I have found this reference to be incomplete in many cases that myself and other genealogists have checked, so Henderson and his wife could well be buried there and their graves marked.)
