Tilghman Anderson Cantrell
(Abt, 1803 - June 11, 1897)
"Tilghman Anderson Cantrell was born in North Carolina in 1803, so was quite young when his father moved to Tennessee. Married (1) Nancy McKey, of Tennessee; seven children; married (2) Jane Jamison, of Mississippi; six children. He moved to Alabama between 1840 and 1845 and died in Floresville, Texas in 1897. He was a member of the Baptist church and studied for the ministry of that denomination, but becoming dissatisfied with creeds, he was ordained a minister of the Christian church. For many years he wielded a great influence in this church, building it up in the sections in which he lived and becoming quite a noted preacher. He was also a physician."
