"Hiram Cantrell was in the Civil War. He married Nancy Hopper, who was born April 11, 1826 in Tennessee. He moved to Harrison, Arkansas in 1877. Hiram died February 14, 1884 in Harrison, Arkansas." (CANTRELL - CANTRILL, 1972 by Horace Elbert Cantrell, page 257.)

"Hiram and Nancy moved to Boone County, Arkansas about 1875. They are probably buried in the Speer-Hopper Cemetery in Harrison, Arkansas (private cemetery). Her parents may be buried there also, but none have tombstones. Uncle Town Hopper Cantrell told me in Bristow in the 1960's that Hiram Cantrell was buried on Joe Speers farm." (Letter from James F.
