Richard Cantrell

"Richard Cantrell was born in North Carolina, March 10, 1771, and went with his parents to Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He is the other son of Abraham mentioned in the First Census, 1790, as being over sixteen years of age. He married Constance Bethel, February 18, 1794. She was born October 22, 1776.
"In July 1794, he purchased 200 acres of land on Little Buck Creek (South Carolina), which he sold October 1, 1797 to Charles Cantrell. In 1800 he purchased other land in this vicinity. The exact year in which he moved with his family to Warren County, Tennessee is not known, but he received a grant of land in that county in 1824. (A list of his descendants followed.)"
