"Funeral services for Riley Howard, Sr., 67, were at 10:30 a.m. today, December 31, in Starks Baptist Church. The Rev. G. Lowrimore, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Doyle Cemetery under direction of Snider Funeral Home. Mr. Howard died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Vinton Community Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Starks.
"Survivors are his sife, Mrs. Emma Howard; five sons, J. W. Howard of Livingston, Riley Howard, Jr. of Starks, Andrew and Vernon Howard both of Houston, Texas, and George Howard O Pasadena, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Resco of Starks, Mrs. Susie Allen of Nacogdoches, Texas and Mrs. Ruby Cormier of Starks; one brother, Harley Howard of DeQuincy; four sister, Mrs. Ann Nation, Mrs. Fannie Virdine and Mrs. Nannie Virdine, all of Starks, and Mrs. Nealy O'Quine of Sulphur, and 21 grandchildren."
