"QUANAH (Spl) - Former Vernon and Quanah resident Lola Pearl Fellers, 91, of Paris, Texas, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, in a Paris hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Quanah Memorial Park with Roelf Rufiner, minister of the Chillicothe Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be under direction of Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Fellers was born Sept. 15,1908, in Honey Grove, a daughter of the late Edgar Dee and Eva Leora Gilchrist Winningham. She married Ira Fellers on April 15, 1931, in Hollis, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1973. A teacher for many years at Williams High and Hooleyann schools, she attended East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce. She was also a nurse's aide for 28 years at Hardeman County Memorial Hospital. She lived in Vernon for 15 years, where she was a member of the Church of Christ and the Vernon Art League. For the past five years, she made her home in Paris, where she lived with a niece, Marie Love. Surviving are a brother, Alvie Winningham of Honey Grove; a sister, Olga Rollans of Vernon; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an adopted son, Rodger Wayne Fellers, on Jan. 2, 1970. Memorials may be made to the Paris Junior College Art Study Club Scholarship or Tipton Childrens Home."
